You

It’s a question of you.

The thought of therapy can feel overwhelming, especially within Australian culture where talking about personal struggles is not always common. Therapy is a blend of talking, thinking, and feeling. At Mulla Mulla Therapy, we offer a safe space for you to pause, reflect, and explore what’s happening in your life. Whether you're navigating significant life changes such as grief, loss, or trauma, or seeking clarity about yourself, your values, and your needs in relationships, parenting, work, or lifestyle, we are here to support you every step of the way. Taking that first step can open the door to greater understanding and wellbeing.

What are you seeking?

Beginning therapy can be a journey filled with many emotions—excitement, fear, and sometimes feeling overwhelmed. It’s important to remember that you don’t need to have all the answers or specific goals before starting. Therapy is a space for exploration and growth. Whether you want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself or a particular situation, seek support to make changes, or improve aspects of your life such as work, relationships, family, or your environment, therapy can offer guidance and support tailored to your unique needs. Your readiness to take this step is the most important part, and inside this safe space, you can move at your own pace towards positive change.

Are you ready?

Are you ready to engage, and most importantly show up for yourself? Taking that first step towards self-care and personal growth is empowering. It’s time to prioritize your well-being, commit to your journey, and embrace the change you deserve. Show up boldly, stay consistent, and watch how your life transforms. Your future self will thank you. Take action today—because you are worth it.

Are you experiencing?

Anxiety, depression, poor mental health, physical health challenges, sleep difficulties, relationship struggles, parenting worries, major life transitions, feelings of overwhelm, burnout, or a loss of life direction—these are just a few of the many concerns we are here to support you through. At Mulla Mulla Therapy, we provide a compassionate and professional environment where you can explore these issues and work towards greater well-being and balance. Your journey to improved mental and emotional health starts with a welcoming space tailored to your unique needs.

Frequently asked questions …

Do I need a mental health plan?

No, you do not need a mental health plan (MHP) to start counselling or psychotherapy. Currently counselling is not covered by Medicare, it is claimable for NDIS participants.

How is counselling different from psychology?

Counselling, psychotherapy and ‘therapy’ can be delivered by a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist. The primary difference in Australia is that psychologist diagnoses psychological disorders. Counsellors and psychotherapists are not registered to diagnose, we provide relational supports to assist you to learn how to manage a diagnosis (depression, anxiety, ADHD, CPTSD, trauma, OCD, bipolar, borderline personality disorder). We also support clients experiencing life changes; grief, loss, life transitions, parenthood, divorce, employment changes, health changes and relationships.

How soon can I start therapy?

Usually within 3 business days.

I want to start therapy but I cannot afford the fee.

At Mulla Mulla Therapy, we have a sliding fee scale. If you are unable to afford the full fee you just need to let us know and we can agree on a fee that is suitable for you.

Do I have to talk about my trauma?

No. You do not have to recount or relive your trauma unless you choose to tell your story. Your therapist is a trained trauma specialist who has supported survivors of war, torture, sexual assault, family violence and coercive control. Every session prioritizes your psychological safety, and your comfort and boundaries guide what is discussed and when.
